Welcome to Hot_H; Hargreaves on the Hunt

Photo by Anna Williams, Atlee Photography.
Welcome to my very first posting on my very first blog! I am Eliza Hargreaves and I am Hargreaves On The Hunt, or ElizaHot_H if you follow me on twitter. I am an actor & an artist, with a passionate eye for beautiful vintage fashion & accessories.
I enjoy going to small thrift shops & flea markets, antique stores & garage sales to find beautiful things that need to be saved from the dumpster.
Recently I opened an ETSY store called Hargreaves Classic Vintage so that I could share these beautiful treasures with people who would enjoy them, as much as I have - or in many cases thought I would but there aren't enough days in the year.

Selling these items makes way for me to continue to do what I love and that is hunt for beautiful articles of clothing, jewelry and accessories. Here are a few items that I have listed in my store... and a few not yet posted.
I just love companies like Pendleton. I appreciate their dedication to quality and fair trade. I have found a number of shirts over the years, but this cape was an amazing find. It has been well cared for, and is in Mint condition. The only thing wrong with it is the very top button has been replaced before I got it.
Here are a few pictures of some of my finds:

Late 1800's Deputy Marshall Pin
STERLING stamped on the back.

This Pendleton cape looks as if it has never been worn.

1930's STERLING grapes. Earings & necklace. Made popular after Prohibition.
1970's homage to 1940's... everyone's favorite.

Bakelite I just found at a yard sale. Not posted on my ETSY site until authenticity is validated.
Please follow me as I hunt out the most beautiful fashion statements for the most reasonable prices from the edges of extinction...
Some of the things I find on my fashion safaris, are potentially in their last stages of existence. If I don't buy them from some of these last stop thrift shops, they will be bulk packaged and sold by weight to recycling plants or simply discarded. I am careful what I buy, I don't buy anything that needs mending or is not in perfect condition. I don't buy things that I wouldn't wear myself. I look for rarity, beauty, originality and affordability...
